Lifestyle Support Services assists deaf people with additional disabilities live in the general community as independently as possible.
People who access this service usually live in their own home, with family members or in shared accommodation.
Through the Lifestyle Support Services program, people are able to access general services to maintain independence and improve their quality of life. Experienced support staff are trained in disability and aged care services and enable communication with those who have minimal language skills.
Our services include:
intensive one-on-one care
group support
recreational and social activities
liaising with the service providers that our clients use.
Deaf Services Queensland provides support by assisting our clients with banking, shopping, home management, communication, literacy skill support, transport coordination and medical appointment management.
Our strength in this service lies not only in our provision of independent living assistance but also in our unique ability to communicate meaningfully with our clients.
