Deafness Awareness Training

Does your organisation or community group:

  • have contact with the general public?
  • value diversity?
  • take pride being an equal opportunity employer?

If you answered YES! to any of these questions take advantage of our Deafness Awareness Training and become a "deaf friendly" organisation.

Deafness Awareness Training is a valuable learning resource for professionals, public servants, service providers, health providers, families, educators, students and anyone with an interest in the Deaf community.

Learn about deaf culture, how to communicate with deaf people and ways you can better reach deaf and hard of hearing people. Deafness Awareness Training will help deepen your organisation’s understanding of how access for deaf people can be improved.

The training is 1, 2 or 4 hours of interactive and stimulating information either at your site or at our Moorooka office. Our instructors are deaf and will be accompanied by an Auslan interpreter. Our training is flexible and can be tailored to the specific needs of any organisation.

For more information regarding costs for the various Deafness Awareness Training packages, please contact Deaf Services Queensland on 3892 8500 or dat@deafsq.org.au.
